MUARA NAVAL BASE, Tuesday, 03 October 2023 – A school visit from Sekolah Menengah Arab Laki-Laki Hassanal Bolkiah to the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was conducted consisting of 114 students and 7 teachers. The tour commenced at the Dewan Nakhoda, Naval Training Centre where they were welcomed by Lieutenant Junior Grade Nur Syahiratul Zakiah binti Zakaria, RBN, Acting Second-In-Command Human Resources Office, where she delivered her opening remarks and a short introductory brief highlighting careers opportunity, roles and responsibilities in RBN.
The programme followed with visits to the Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG), Base Defence, Fire Fighting and Damage Control (FFDC) and the Full Mission Bridge Simulator (FMBS) at the Naval Training Centre (NTC) where they were exposed to some of the equipment used. Finally, the teachers and students had the opportunity to visit KDB DARULEHSAN and KDB SYAFAAT where they visited key areas onboard the ships.
The visit provided them with the opportunity to discover the assets supporting RBN's mission and the personnel behind them. The visit concluded with a memento presentation from school's teacher and a group photo session before leaving the Muara Naval Base.
